The Spring Branch Educational Technology Department is in the process of creating a multimedia newsletter named ENTERactive that will be published four times a year. ENTERactive will incorporate video, sound, photo essays, animation, etc. so that we can begin to show some of the great and exciting things happening with technology in Spring Branch…but we need YOUR HELP!
ENTERactive will feature best practices throughout the district of teachers integrating technology into their curriculum. Do you know of a teacher who exemplifies this standard? A teacher who is innovative and “leading the way” in terms of seamlessly integrating technology into his/her curriculum? Then please tell us! Each edition of ENTERactive will feature between 3-6 teachers throughout the district who typifies what it means to integrate technology into their classroom curriculum.
Ideas for submissions:
- An example of a teacher using innovative teaching techniques with technology in his/her classroom
- A story of how technology has improved learning or camaraderie in the classroom
- An example of how a student (or group of students) has been affected by technology in their classroom in a positive way
- An example of a teacher embedding 21st Century Skills into their curriculum
- An example of a teacher allowing students to demonstrate learning using technology
- An example of self-directed student learning in the classroom (PBL)
- An example of students creating, evaluating, making decisions, and problem solving using technology (PBL)
Using any of the following:
- ACTIVclassroom—teachers sharing their space with their students
- Easy Tech (learning.com)—teachers teaching the technology TEKS and then applying them through project based learning
- Type to Learn—3rd grade teachers implementing keyboarding and then applying it throughout the curriculum
- Web 2.0 Tools in the classroom—Wikis, podcasts, blogs
- Problem Based Learning
- Project Based Learning

Please fill out the form using Microsoft Word and return to Kary Boan via email no later than November 30, at 5:00pm.
UPDATE 12/12/07: Because the concept of this multimedia newsletter is so new, it was difficult to get the word out and find potential candidates for this project. We have extended our search and decided to publish the first edition of ENTERactive in March 2008 instead of January. The goal is still to publish the newsletter four times per year. And we are hopeful that once the newsletter is “out there” people will better understand what it is and begin submitting great ideas for future publications.
