Welcome

The ACTIVclassroom incorporates the entire teaching process. Teachers deliver instruction interactively using the web, videos, voting, activities, games, and other resources to capture and engage students' minds. Student knowledge is assessed throughout each lesson using the votes. The formative assessment and polling allow teachers to define the path of instruction and improve student understanding. Curriculum flipcharts are created and aligned using various lesson development and curriculum tools aligned to state standards. Through the spirit of collaboration, Spring Branch teachers generate and reinforce new teaching concepts.

New Policy on the Required Flipchart Assignment

The Flipchart Assignment has always been a mandatory part of the Intro Training. Please read the guidelines below to ascertain who needs to submit a flipchart as part of this mandatory requirement and when your flipchart assignment is due.

If you attended the Intro training from May 2007 to December 2007 and you had an ACTIVboard installed in your room, your flipchart assignment was due May 15, 2008.

If you attended the Intro Training from January 2008 to May 2008 and your board was/will be installed in the Spring or Summer of 2008, your flipchart assignment is due no later than August 8, 2008.

If you attended the Intro Training from May 2007 and May 2008 and did NOT have an ACTIVboard installed in your room and will NOT have one installed in the Summer of 2008, then you do not need to submit a flipchart assignment at this time. Your flipchart assignment will be required after your board is installed in your room.

Beginning June 1, 2008 - the policy changes. ANYONE who is an instructional staff member to attends the Intro Training will be required to submit a flipchart assignment at the time of your training. With the laptop rollout, all teachers, librarians and SIS's now have ACTIVstudio 3.6 installed on your computer. Therefore...

ANY TEACHER, SIS or LIBRARIAN who attends an Intro training from June 1, 2008 to August 7, 2008 - your flipchart assignment is due no later than December 15, 2008.

ANY TEACHER, SIS or LIBRARIAN who attends an Intro training from August 8, 2008 to December 15, 2008 - your flipchart assignment is due no later than February 27, 2009.
