Ch 4 AP Chemistry: Types of reactions

This is Ch 4 in AP Chemistry. This chapter needs to be supplemented now or sometime during the year with all of the rules for types of reactions. There is a pre-AP flipchart that covers most of these. In Chapter 4, students learn about Molarity, dilutions, solubility rules, electrolytes, oxidation numbers, and redox reactions. There is a note packet that can be downloaded that allows students to follow along and solve the problems.
How does structure affect solubility?

Students will learn the difference between intermolecular and intramolecular forces. Students will learn the different types of IMF's such as hydrogen bonding, dipole-dipole, dispersion, ionic and how this relates to the melting, boiling, and freezing points of these substances.Temperature and pressure effects on solubility

Students will learn the difference between saturated, unsaturated, and supersaturated solutions, how to read solubility graphs, how to change the rate of dissolving, and the effects of temperature and pressure on solubility
