Posted: June 19th, 2008 by mabrye
This flipchart introduces the various classifications of slope (positive, negative, undefined, zero) and its definition. Then, it provides students a chance to practice calculating slope using lines identified in photographs.
OBJECTIVE: Given pictures on coordinate planes, students will demonstrate understanding of slope as a rate by identifying lines and then writing ratios to describe their change.
Functions #6 Ch 4 - Patterns - Tables to Rules
Posted: June 19th, 2008 by mabrye
This flipchart summarizes the patterns explorations already completed and then requires the students to apply this information when writing function rules/equations from tables.
OBJECTIVE: Given 50 minutes and various patterns, students will demostrate understanding of writing a function rule from a pattern in a table by calculating the growth rate and identifying the starting value.
Functions #5 Ch 4 - Patterns Continued - Independent & Dependent
Posted: June 19th, 2008 by mabrye
This flipchart continues to study functions and their attributes through the use of patterns and tiles. Specifically, it focuses on independent and dependent quantities.
