Ch 3.1-3.5 AP Chemistry: Moles, % Composition, and Empirical Formulas

This is an AP chemistry flipchart that covers Chapter 3.1-3.5. This flipchart should take 1-2 days to complete. Ch 3.1-3.5 covers calculating average atomic mass, calculating the mole, % composition, empirical and molecular formulas. There is a note packet that can be downloaded also that students can use to follow along and solve the problems. The teacher can use ACTIVexpressions on the many open ended questions, you can just send students to the board to solve the problem, or both.

Limiting Reactant

Unit 7 Stoichiometry. This flipchart deals with the limiting reactant concept. It shows two different methods (Mole Comparision and Minimum Amount of Product) for learners to choose.

The Mole Concept : Mole - Particles Relationship

Unit 7 Stoichiometry. This flipchart explains the relationship between 'mole' and 'number of particles'. It also explains how to convert between the two, mole to particles and particles to mole. Different types of particles (molecules, atoms, formula units, ions) are also discussed.

The Mole Concept : Mole - Mass Relationship

Unit 7 Stoichiometry. This flipchart explains the relationship between 'mole' and 'mass'.   It also explains how to convert between the two, mole to mass and mass to mole. The definition of molar mass is explained. There are problems for students to practice calculating molar masses.
