Linear Functions Ch 5 - Slope on a Graph Introduction

This flipchart introduces the various classifications of slope (positive, negative, undefined, zero) and its definition. Then, it provides students a chance to practice calculating slope using lines identified in photographs.

OBJECTIVE: Given pictures on coordinate planes, students will demonstrate understanding of slope as a rate by identifying lines and then writing ratios to describe their change.

Position -Time Graphs and Velocity - Time Graphs

Physics 1 Academic: Grades 11 and 12

  • Students interpret graphs to explain the motion needed to generate the graph.
  • Students match the type of motion to what the graph will look.
  • Students analyze motion as constant and accelerated based on the slope of the graph.
