System of Equations Ch 6 - Intro with McGrady's Magic
Posted: June 19th, 2008 by mabrye
This flilpchart introduces the concept of a system of equations using a basketball situation. Students find the solution of the system from many different representations.
OBJECTIVE: Given 50 minutes and a basketball situation, students will understand the concept behind systems of equations by modeling the system of points and shots and its solution in multiple ways.
Functions #7 Ch 4 - Patterns - Scatter Plots (Age Estimation)
Posted: June 19th, 2008 by mabrye
This flipchart introduces and explores the patterns seen in scatter plots. After completing an age estimation activity, students will discuss the results displayed by the scatter plot.
OBJECTIVE: Given 50 minutes and data, students will be able to understand how to interpret and graph situations by plotting the data points and then identifying the correlation.
Functions #1 Ch 4 - Situational Graphing
Posted: June 19th, 2008 by mabrye
This flipchart covers translating between situations and graphs. Students have the opportunity to practice writing stories from graphs and drawing graphs to represent stories.
OBJECTIVE: Given 50 minutes, stories, and graphs, students will understand how graphs and situations are related by identifying key words and then representing the same information in another format (story or graph).
