This flipchart allows students to use higher order thinking skills in order to figure out the sequence of the five major dates (1607, 1776, 1787, 1803, and 1861-1865) that they must know. This flipchart can be used to introduce the five major dates or as a review. 
Establishing the First British Colonies

This flipchart introduces students to the movitivations for exploring and colonizing North America. Students will watch clips from the digital streaming video "The New World Colonized." Students will discuss video with group members and fill in graphic organizers with important information. At the end of the lesson, students will participate in an ACTIVote session to review important concepts.
