This flipchart should be used as a comprehensive 8th grade US History TAKS review for the first part of US History, explorers through the American Revolution. Students will interact with the flipchart as a class to review major topics covered during the first part of the year.

This lesson explores the effect of the Columbian Exchange. Students are asked to categorize plants, animals, and diseases as items that were brought over from the New World and Old World.
The lesson then asks student to consider whether the Columbian Exchange was positive or negative.
