This flipchart explores the idea of solving 1 step equations. It uses the idea of keeping the equation balanced and "undoing" operations to solve.
OBJECTIVE: Given 50 minutes and various single-variable equations, students will be able to solve an equation for the value of a given variable by undoing the given operations to isolate variable.

Balance and motion

Students will get in introduction to what balance is. They will watch a video and use a flip chart page to monitor their understanding of it. They will also view a lesson on what is a push or pull. Then they will perform a sort to cement the concept. The final concept students will practice is creating a top.
