Intro to Translations, Reflections, and Rotations

This flip chart was made based on districts plans. It demonstrates translations, reflections and rotations using concrete models. There is some prep work for this (die cuts).

2-D Shapes

This flipchart uses a Halloween motive to inform students of attributes of 2-dimensional shapes.

Wonderful World of Birds

The wonderful world of birds starts off with "What is a bird?" The students complete a chart then identify traits of a bird. The next page is a word scramble. After that the students are given information that answers the first four essential questions from the district unit. The next section is on owls being carnivores and what they eat. There is a link to a virtual dissection site and handouts that can be printed for the student. There are questions using activotes at the end.

Shapes

This is an introduction to learning about the attributes of solids and plane shapes. Students listen to a story, watch a video clip, then dentify the shapes in the story. Next they complete an attribute chart. Students are then assessed using activotes. At the end of this 30 -40 minute lesson there is an attribute game played on the web.
