Observing Clouds

Tomie dePaola's "The Cloud Book," is a perfect set for this lesson. The kids can relate text to text, (the book and the flipchart). Then they can use prior knowledge from reading to help comprehension while they watch a video clip that names the major clouds and states the weather associated with those clouds. There is a review page with the names of the clouds as well as the type of weather observed when those clouds are in the sky. Students will be assessed on comprehension with 6 or so questions using their activotes. At the end of the flipchart students will play a web game to name the clouds.
