Physics 1 Academic: Grades 11 and 12

This is the introduction to the Lab on Series and Parallel Circuits.

• Students use light bulbs, voltage source, wires and a switch to construct series and parallel circuits.
• Students observe the properties of both types of circuits.
• During the pre-lab, students understand the purpose of each part of the circuit and the safety rules they must practice during the lab experiment.

• Students discover out how each part of a circuit works.
• Students design circuits using symbols.

Students calculate power and energy of given circuits.
Students understand and apply safety rules when they are using electricity.
Students problem solve house project issues so that they understand how short circuits, fuses, voltage sources and multimeters affect how their circuits work.
